William K. Womelduff is a freelance filmmaker, photographer and scenic carpenter who has worked since 2017 as a camera operator for the Kansas City Royals. In the fall of 2018, he worked as a scenic carpenter for a co-production of “Dracula” between the University of Missouri-Kansas City Theatre and the Kansas City Actor’s Theatre. William holds an Associate of Arts degree from Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley and is attending the University of Missouri-Kansas City for a BA in Communication Studies with emphasis in Film and Media Arts and minor in Theatre Arts. In the winter of 2017 a short documentary he co-produced called, “Arny Young KC Drummer” was featured on KCPT’s program “Arts Upload”. In April of 2018 the same documentary was made an official selection and screened at BisonBison Student Film Festival in Ponca City, Oklahoma. In October of 2018 William's short narrative film, “The Book” won best narrative at the Gateway Film Festival at Pacific University in Oregon, and has screen other festivals including the 2019 KC Filmfest International. Currently William is working on a documentary about a Kansas City based artist, and another experimental film about his time living in Europe this summer.
Greatly inspired by history, science, politics, philosophy and the arts, but perhaps none more so than the everyday struggling journey of life. I started trying to make movies when I was nine and have steadily learned more about the art of cinema as the years have passed. Story telling is one of the most human things we can do and I find few greater thrills than the enveloping art of cinema and the challenge of telling not only my own story but helping others to tell theirs.
