Director Statement

When I read the radio play of the same title, I felt enchanted by this study in guilt and exposure. It was pervaded by the kind of non-realistic and nightmarish mood you’d find in writings by Stig Dagerman (famous Swedish author). The idea grew to make a timeless genre movie; a thriller resting on moral dilemmas, leaving the viewer unsure about with whom to sympathise. And an ending where everything comes to a head.
