THE ALMANAC: 12 Months’ Allegories
About a year ago, I found a great book in the labyrinth of my mind.
It was written in a strange language and was chock-full of phrases, projects, illustrations.
It looked like a kind of bazar that contained a bit of everything:
astronomy, robotics, social relations and other strange things.
Looking at it more carefully, I realized that this book was divided into 12 chapters and each chapter corresponded to a month of the year. I called it: "The Almanac".

Hello, my name is Pasquale D’Amico and I’m a visual artist. I was born in 1980 in a little town in the South of Italy.
I love astronomy, physics, read good books and play ukulele.
What I do is simple: I bring ideas to life and animate stuff. I do the animations in every way: stop motion, classic 2d, sometime 3d and sometime I try to mix all together.
My work has a double aspect: on the one hand I realize personal and artistic works that are sometimes rewarded, and on the other hand I realize works in animation for various types of clients.

"The Almanac: 12 Months' Allegories" is the result of almost two years of my hard work. I managed to complete it with the help of a few good friends who supported my cause and made their contribution (small but important).
This is a very special film, different from the usual. It's a sort of movie / bazaar and that's why it's called "The Almanac": because it contains a bit of everything. The film is composed of 12 small short films, one per month: in addition there is an initial prologue and the month of December is the epilogue. The various months are not connected to each other and each story is a bit cryptic, a bit ergodic. We need to think carefully to understand the various meanings. It is not a didactic film. There is only to interpret every word, every sound, every image. The various stories of the 12 months differ both in the stylistic choice and in the choice of music and also in the choice of the video format: as I said before, it is a large bazaar. The film is full of metaphors, paradoxes, clues that lend itself to various interpretations.
