Director Statement

With this film i want to give you an insight on how it could be to change once life. Forget about the stress of everyday life and just start over.

I got the idea for the story in The Apartment when I had to return a drum set myself. In the apartment where I was returning the drums I started to think of how it would be to live there. Forget kids and the life you live now, just close the door and start over again.

I want to tell the story almost without dialogue. The film moves slowly forward whit long takes. I want the audience to feel the emptiness in Tom’s life. His longing for doing something else.

The drama within this film is in how far will he go in trying out a new life. There are three turning points in the film, the fear of being discovered, getting comfortable and getting a new friend. During Tom's afternoon in the apartment he gets to feel how it would be if he had a different life. This quiet and slow film I hope will give the audience time to reflect on how our choices in life leads to new paths. How would it be if we just walked away from it all and started over in someone else's life.
