The 39th
Amidst corruption, political scandal, and fiscal crisis, 26-year-old activist Will Guzzardi believes that he can mobilize a movement to upend Illinois’ political machine. But he chose to run against the daughter of one of the best connected pols in Chicago — and the establishment is not going to let her go down without a fight. THE 39TH follows Guzzardi as he fights to win over a changing neighborhood, block by block — and comes to terms with how far the machine will go to hang on to power.

Laura Wilson Fallsgraff is a director, producer, and impact producer with Kindling Group. She studied international relations, but her hometown of Chicago was always calling — and she moved back in 2012 to write emails for President Obama's re-election campaign. She has worked on Kindling's films @home, Radical Grace, and is directing the short The 39th. She loves nothing more than bringing online organizing and compelling storytelling together to inspire change.
