Margaret Odera: community health worker, singer, mom, advocate
Margaret Odera is a community health worker in the Mathare North slums of Nairobi, where she prevents mother-to-child transmission of HIV, provides immunizations, and links community members to her health center. She’s also a normal person like anyone else—she’s a mother, wife, singer, and advocate. Margaret and other health workers, especially women, need more support and protection now during the COVID pandemic, and beyond.
