As a filmmaker I have always been interested in the notion of identity and storytelling within the world we live in and in our communication of character, whether real or fictional. Having chosen a career in the Film and Media Industries I hope to continue to put this natural curiosity of mine into a visual format, telling stories through the medium of Film Making and Visual Media.
'Termination Of Services Rendered' was born as a Competition Winning Script for One Stop Films "Spy Thiller" contest. Though the genre is not a typical exploration of mine it was a brilliant opportunity to delve into a new world with my usual approach of Character first. Taking inspiration from "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" and "Sleuth", Termination dares to do-away with heavy action and instead focuses on a very human drama set within a cloak-and-dagger world.
One of the most important elements of the film for me was in casting Anna in our leading role. To have a strong older female lead that wasn’t just playing the grandmother trope was such an exciting opportunity that I’m grateful to Anna to help me to portray.
