Ryan Thielen hit the ground running in the film industry by starting Triglass Productions while still in college. Based out of Minneapolis, MN, Triglass Productions has produced NFL content- including web content, Cheerleader Stadium Videos, and a Minnesota Black History Month TV show [featured on FOX Sports]. Not one to stand still, he created two new sports formats: The NFL Pro Bowl Promotion video and the Prime Stats brand of videos. The Pro Bowl Videos take an innovative cinematic approach to featuring star players while Prime Stats is currently used for NFL, NBA, and NCAA social media outlets.
Ryan has directed and edited 3 Short films, 3 music videos, and will be post-production manager on an upcoming feature-length film by 4th Street Productions. His clients, The Vikings and other production companies go to him because of his signature vivid cinematic storytelling.
Ryan takes his passion of every aspect of film production as a driving force to continually hone his craft. Starting as an editor, he quickly branched off into Producing, Directing, Writing, Cinematography, and media consulting for the Minnesota Vikings. His work with the Vikings led to an Emmy Nomination [Xavier Rhodes Pro Bowl Promo]. Ryan has also won two Hermes Creative Awards for his Television Commercials [BiPro USA; Vikings Ride for Life].
"... [Ryan] quickly earns the trust of his crew, his peers, and his superiors." - Brad Chisholm, Professor of Film Studies, St. Cloud State University
"...a Hollywood-ready visual." - Jerard Fagerberg, Minneapolis City Pages, on Take You There Music Video
"...ambitious...with tremendous technical and creative skills..." - Chris Jordan PhD, Associate Professor and Chair - Department of Theatre and Film Studies, St. Cloud State University
Drowning is probably one of the worst ways someone could die. You're literally forced to breathe water as your lungs explode while sinking to your death. In my experience, editing shares many parallels with drowning including but not limited to exploding lungs.
I hate editing but I'm also addicted to editing. I believe it's the single most important aspect of filmmaking. The editor controls the pace, the style, and most importantly - tells the story. For that reason I have been obsessed with controlling the edit, which is why I've also recently started to assume the 2nd most important influence on the editor. The Director.
