Adam is a Toronto based writer, producer, and director. He operates with an eye for capturing the dramatic, a technique he utilizes in his second film, this dark comedic horror piece, Guess Who’s Not Coming To Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner?
Adam has been quietly active in the Toronto film scene since 2012, producing and directing his debut film Mum (2012), producing Bow To Your Prince (March Mercanti, 2014), and producing Face Wash (March Mercanti, 2015). He recently received an Emerging Artists Grant from the Ontario Arts Council towards his upcoming psychological drama My Brother’s Rifle beginning pre-production in September of 2015.
"Guess Who's Not Coming To Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner?" is a psychological horror film with elements of dark comedy. Spence [the writer] described the story to me in this way, "Imagine a world where 'Leave It To Beaver' met 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.'" The film uses this statement as a platform to draw parallels between the modern-day nuclear family and those of the past while incorporating the tropes associated with the 1950's family sit-com and the horror genre.
We set the table for you to experience life alongside Jimmy Swanson, our anti-hero, who is struggling to find his place in the Swanson Family after being punished for his mealtime manners. His character places emphasis on the alienation we have all faced in the eyes of our peers and what we must do to fight against this injustice.
As Jimmy will soon discover, individualism is not to be tolerated, especially when those who would be individuals of the world unite.
