Fish Of The People: Lahontan Cutthroat Trout at Summit Lake

For generations, the Summit Lake Paiute Tribe has lived with and harvested Lahontan Cutthroat Trout at Summit Lake in the Great Basin. Under the tribe’s management, remote Summit Lake is now one of the last places where a population of Lahontan Cutthroat Trout can sustain itself in the wild. Fish Of The People tells the story of these beautiful, threatened fish and their importance to the Summit Lake Paiute Tribe's cultural heritage. It also documents the fisheries science efforts the tribe has implemented with the University of Nevada, Reno and other partners to study and protect the Lahontan Cutthroat Trout.
