Stella Erratica
Alone on a desolate planet. Or is he?
This experimental lo-fi sci-fi, shot on super 8 film, charts a voyage through space to another world. Although the monsters may lie much closer to home...
Props from the film were also used by David Bowie's production team for his penultimate music video, 'Blackstar'.
The film was painstakingly edited by hand, using optical effects to create an authentic, vintage style.

A poet who works on paper and film, Ben Barton's super 8 films evoke themes of horror, fairytales and lost home movies from the British seaside. They have been screened at many international festivals and events, broadcast on Sky TV and also featured on the BBC's 'Big Screens' around the UK. He is currently based in Folkestone, Kent.
"I was so lucky that production of this film coincided with David Bowie's 'Blackstar'. When his team contacted us about hiring the spacesuit we had reserved for the production, we were happy to help him out. In return, he funded our little film. I was delighted. Of course, at the time we didn't know it would be his final project before he died. So it's bittersweet, in a way. But I'm happy to be connected with that amazing legacy."
