"The STAY ONLINE project is extremely important for everyone in our team because of its realistic background. In the early days of the war, we were all overwhelmed with fear and pain so we needed to speak out. And such an opportunity was given to me by Anton Skrypets who somehow wrote to me one evening - "Yeva, I have an idea, let's write a script!" And off we went.
The format of screenlife was chosen by Anton not only because with the problem in finding enough funds for a classic feature film during the war. But also because this war is happening on laptops, on phones, on all social media. It's been broadcasted every minute. Screenlife is in our lives. And the only way to find out if a person you care about is still alive is to text him, call her, chat together.
We were inspired by the stories of volunteers who had been helping to evacuate residents of Irpin and Bucha. Therefore, the main character, Katya, is a composite image of our heroic Ukrainians who tried to save lives of other Ukrainians risking their own."
