Tirrell Coleman, was born on September 16, 1985, in Washington, DC. He was raised by his biological parents Willie Coleman, his father whom served in the Marine Corp, and later in the Army Reserves; he also endured two tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. While his mother Stephanie Coleman, worked in the field of childhood development. Due to being raised as a military brat, Tirrell moved constantly throughout his early childhood throughout the United States, living in places such as North Carolina, and Honolulu, Hawaii; he, and his family even got the chance to meet Ms. Hawaii of 1989.
In his early life, Tirrell was deeply intrigued in art, video games, movies, and eventually music. Reading comic books and watching his favorite films, Tirrell developed a knack for writing stories and sketching original characters, he even taught himself how to sing, play the keyboard, and guitar, and written many original songs. In 2004, he traditionally graduated from The Jim Henson School of Arts Northwestern High School. Afterwards he studied at the Art Institute of Washington, and majored in Media Arts and Animation.
The first short film that he wrote, produced, directed, edited, and even composed the score, and original music was "A Book By It's Cover (2016) (Short)".
'Split!', was somewhat of a daunting, and complex film to deliver. One thing for sure, I knew that I wanted to explore making a film based on visuals, and plot devices. However, working with the child actors was tough, due to their first filming experience ever; yet it was fun, and understanding simultaneously. Overall, everything worked out great, sustaining patience, and diligence; and making sure that we followed through with the vision I had in mind.
During pre-production, we made sure to conduct proper table reads with the boys, while mentoring, and unlocking their inner acting potential. Brandon A. Cueto-Yenty's performance was incredible, which brought up my attention to take him under my wing, and make him my protege, who is now Junior CEO, of Kuroi Entertainment.
