Not Our Days
Spinach is the economic source on which the Uncle’s family depends.
In the third year of COVID-19, followed by long-term lockdown and quarantining at home the COVID policy had its 180 degree turnover. Conflicted, confused, irritated and anxious like any other hundreds of millions of people, the family of three continues to remain positive and optimistic.
This is a typical Chinese family’s perspective towards the government’s policy against pandemic prevention, there’s no right or wrong, agree to disagree. Instead, they’re grateful for the protection measures taken by the country, meanwhile also complaining about the resulting loss of livelihoods. This documentary presents the complexity of those emotions.
