Travis Houze is a photographer and videographer based in Washington DC with a background in Portraiture and Documentary style work. Travis began his creative journey in the late 2000s when influenced by his friends to make a short documentary series. Since then, he's been able to work with countless local and national names for the creative direction of their social media presentation and performances on the road.
When it comes to my work, a lot of the stories I tell maintain a certain level of vulnerability. I feel that vulnerability can make the most recognized of faces feel relatable to any and everyone aside from their accolades. With Sounds of the Summer, I wanted to show that the names well known within the city had to go through some hardships in the process and that being able to do what they've done is a humbling experience and they have gained a strong amount of wisdom to provide to those within the city and even to those outside as well.
