Something Like a Film Festival (SLFF) is an annual festival of documentaries, interdisciplinary films and fiction features/shorts in Kathmandu. The festival is open to films of all genre and length from professional and amateur filmmakers. There are no content restrictions to films submitted.

SLFF traces its history to 2009 when amateur/ student films were screened as week long screenings at the school.

Freedom Filmmaker Award
- In recognition of diverse storytelling and production practice. Audience choice.

Woman filmmaker Award
- In recognition to woman filmmaker with focus on intersectional issues of the feminist movement.

* All films submitted must be made after 30th January 2021.
* Student/ short films under 5 minutes in length will not be accepted.
* Submitted films must not have been published online.
* Films that do not have an online link cannot be reviewed for logistic reasons.
* The festival is unable to pay for films to be screened.
* Film based interdisciplinary projects that require considerable transportation costs may not be supported due to logistic challenges. (write to us for this)
* Work in progress submissions are open in a cyclic order – work in progress films submitted should be complete prior to the final festival of 2023. ( write to us for this)
