SOLITUDE
Matt, a war veteran with a substance abuse problem is kicked out of his house by his wife and lives in his car. As drives around town he gets a call from his office telling him he is has been fired. With nothing else to lose he ponders on his life and what is next for him.

Paolo is an Award winning (1 Emmy, 5 Bronze Telly Awards at the 32nd, 33rd and 35th Annual Telly Awards. Silver and Bronze Reel at the 41st Annual MCA-I Media Festival) seasoned professional with experience in writing , producing, shooting, directing and editing commercials, promos and documentaries etc.
Paolo Mugnaini’s career has taken him from Europe to America where he has had enjoyed a diverse career in music, television news and his first love, film.
Born and raised in Rome, Italy, Paolo grew up steeped in his country’s storied film history. Icons of Italian filmmaking like Rossellini, Fellini, De Sica and Visconti filmed their masterpieces in his hometown; often at the Ponti-De Laurentiis studios, which later became the school where he later learned and honed his craft.
Paolo became a great student of film and graduated with a specialty in editing while studying under the De Laurentiis brothers at the R. Rossellini National Film Institute. After graduation, Paolo packed his bags and moved to London. In the early 1990’s, he left again, this time for the U.S. His journey ended in Miami where he quickly landed jobs editing and producing in the city’s cutting-edge local television newsrooms.
A few years ago he also started shooting and directing.
In 2008 he edited his first feature, The Other Side Of The Lens, a documentary that was officially selected in 12 film festivals worldwide.
Paolo loves watching movies of any kind, but especially classic films; from Italian neo-realism to film noir and anything by Alfred Hitchcock. As a student of film, he’s also a big fan of actors and spent three years in acting classes. In his time away from work, he loves cooking for friends and family, boxing and Formula 1 racing.
Paolo is married and lives in Hollywood, Florida.

This film was made with less than $1000 and it was born from the necessity to tell the story.
Time was running out and I only had a certain window of time to be able to film it.
It was done in 3 days with some additional time for pick up shots.
Many things could have been done better, but the pre production time was very short.
As my first effort in a short film I learned a lot of things that I am bringing into my next venture.
