The iconography of sleeping Buddha translates into the potential of being released from the cycle of death and rebirth and to be awakened. It is with this conscience that the Snow View Film Festival starts its journey. Because we believe that the art of filmmaking transcends time and borders.

Not only that, generation after generation humans have been telling their stories. From the primordial cave man to the cosmopoliton cos-player, all humans are trying to tell their story. These stories are ancient as well as intimate. What better way to celebrate this ancient tradition than to celebrate this in the Himalayas. This region  always has and continues to inspire generations of humans. 

In a way, mountains are a reflection of who you are, as a person. It forces you to be responsive; shakes you out of your sedentary existence. 
We believe art and film, both should have the same effect on human conscience. That is the reason behind why we wanted to start a film festival, and we wanted to do it in the Himalayan range.

Welcome to Snow View Film Fest! The first screening will take place in April, 2023 in Pelling, West Sikkim. 

Awards & Prizes

Hi! We will screen the winners in our venue Snow View on Cloud Nine in April, 2023 in Pelling, Sikkim. Pelling is a quaint town near Mount Kanchenjunga. On a bright day, one can witness the Sleeping Buddha from the streets of Pelling. SVFF will arrange  sight-seeing in and around Pelling for the winners. All the winning films and Finalists will receive E-certificates and Laurels for their projects. We also have a publication where you can opt in for reviews and interviews.

Rules & Terms

ENTRY GUIDELINES - 

​

1. Films completed on or after January 1, 2001 are eligible for consideration.

2.All entries must be in English or have English subtitles. 

3. Entrant confirms and warrants that he or she has the necessary legal authority to submit the entry to the Festival and to use all music, images, and content included in the entry.

4. We accept submissions for feature films, short films, feature documentaries, short documentaries, animation, web series, music videos, student films, feature length screenplays, short screenplays, scripts for television/web series pilots and virtual reality.

​

5. All feature narrative and feature documentary submissions must be over 60 minutes in length.

​

6. All short film narrative and short documentary submissions must be under 60 minutes in length.

​

7. Animation, web series, and student film submissions of all lengths will be considered.

​

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES - 

1. Entry fees are non-refundable.

2. The submitter owns all the rights to the film or script.

3. Submission cannot be withdrawn after the announcement of the official selection.

4. SVFF can use trailer/teaser/film poster/stills or BTS and script excerpt for promotional purpose 

5. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, festival dates, location and/or format are subject to change.
