When a group of pals gather under the starry skies of rural Michigan for a late-summer bonfire, it should be a night full of friendly vibes and warm convos. But when two newcomers, Book Guy and Guitar Guy, try to make their presences felt to the close-knit circle, each immediately sees through the other’s party trick, and begins deconstructing the other’s persona for all to see. Add in a splash of brown liquor and a twist of humiliation, and watch the good times go up in flames: It’s man v. man v. himself in a surreal parable about what happens when we let our swollen egos (literally) get the worst of us.
