Silhouette Secrets
Silhouette Secrets is a one-hour TV documentary in which a modern-day silhouette artist takes a journey back in time to explore the history of his shadowy art, asking the question “Where did it come from?”. On the way he meets the world’s fastest silhouette artist, who challenges him to a duel of scissors! The journey takes him from a windswept seaside pier - on the north coast of Wales - to an Audi showroom in Houston, Texas, and finishes with an intriguing answer to his question.

With fifteen years of freelance documentary and factual content experience, Andi is a multi-skilled and award winning filmmaker; communications specialist; writer, producer, director, self-shooting pd, editor and sometimes financier. He fights for freedom and truth, but never in his best trousers.
With a track record of delivering innovative and high-end content for theatrical, television and online digital platforms, he is experienced in all areas of development, production, post production and distribution; whatever is necessary to create quality factual or branded content.
He has produced broadcast spots, short and feature-length documentaries, short narrative films, episodic television, web-based media and ethnographic installations. As a producer Andi has a keen business sense, and as an artist he is always at the intersection between visual expression, sound and narrative storytelling. He is honest, professional and unconventional in this approach, and has built a reputation of bringing intelligence, focus and a maverick energy to his work.
His documentaries have essentially been focussed on political, science, technology, arts and culture content, and often with sensitive and controversial subject matter. However, he has a broad knowledge of the current UK production landscape.
He is also a freelance lecturer and sessional teacher at various films schools in the UK, notably SAE, and is also a cartoonist, caricaturist and performance painter.
“Andi Reiss is a filmmaker with a brave and brittle voice, appealing to something beyond the obvious.” James Christopher, ‘The Times’ (2010)
