The santipur international film festival (SIFF), organised by the santipur independent film forum, started in February 2020.

Historically Santipur has an immense contribution in Bengali literature and culture. Through this festival(SIFF) we try to promote mostly independent and experimental cinema in various ways in our very own town.

The festival, held over three days, does not charge any submission fees. Everyone is welcome to attend. The SIFF is a non-sponsored event which does not accept any governmental or corporate sponsorships. It runs solely on grassroots community support and donations made by individual supporters.

Awards & Prizes

SIFF believes in celebrating cinema sharing thoughts and spreading love for cinema . There are no monetary awards. The best award we offer is a lively, critical, engaging and INTERACTIVE cinema audience, and the chance to meet and interact with the contemporary filmmaking community.

all officially selected films will be screened physically and will be offered official SIFF laurel and a digital certificate of participation.

Rules & Terms

*** IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR FILMMAKERS***

DUE TO SOME ANAVOIDABLE SITUATIONS AND CIRCUMSTANCES WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING ANY MORE SUBMISSION/S.

GENERAL:

***The films must include subtitles (unless the spoken language is English).

By submitting the film, the submitter agrees that:
1. SIFF can use trailer/teaser/film poster/stills or BTS for promotional purpose (but do not release, under any form or circumstances, the full film)
2. Entry free
3. The submitter owns all the rights to the film.
4. The submitter cannot withdraw the submission after the official selection announcement.
5. Stick to the deadlines, for your entry to be eligible.

6. The festival organisers may make an exception to any of the criteria or rules if deemed necessary.

7. The decision of the selection committee is final.

8. Once a film is selected and the filmmaker notified, it is the responsibility of the filmmaker to ensure that a screening copy reaches the Festival desk within the stipulated date.

9. Only productions completed on or after 1 January 2018 are eligible for entry in SIFF 2021.

SCREENING FORMAT :

Films must be submitted via online screener ONLY. We do not accept DVDs, pen drives or hard drives.

2) Audio: 320 Kbps, AAC, 2 channel stereo
3) Aspect ratio 16×9, Resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels
4) English subtitles

TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION:

1. SIFF is happy to welcome director and other members of all the selected films , who are willing to bear their own travel and accommodation costs.

2. Due to present COVID 19 situation, SIFF is unable to welcome filmmakers participating from outside India.
