She'll Be Right
"It seemed like I was on the verge of something but then looking back... it all just seems really awkward."
SHE'LL BE RIGHT is a quirky, and unhinged take on the oft-told tale of a struggling actress in the city of (broken) dreams. Its title is a well-known Aussie colloquialism meaning, "Everything will be alright". But, like... will it really?
The comedic short features droll conversations between an LA-based Aussie and her forthright Singaporean mother.
Through a mishmash of fictional and candid footage, the semi-autobiographical comedy offers a hilarious glimpse into the life and loves of an offbeat gal with a penchant for ice cream and overreacting.
The film is partly an elegy to its alluring East Los Angeles setting, and partly a pragmatic mother's “I-told-you-so”.
