Sasiwimon is an interdisciplinary artist and architect with a focus spanning art, architecture, and spatial practice. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Situated Practice at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. This multidisciplinary program examines the relationship between conceptual spatial theories in art, architecture, performance, urbanism, and writing. Through her studies, Sasiwimon investigates and experiments with various approaches, including essay film, performance, and intervention, to address specific spaces and issues related to society, politics, and the environment.
Originally from Thailand, Sasiwimon previously worked as an architect at Vin Varavarn Architects Ltd. (VVA) in Bangkok, an organisation renowned for its innovative and practical design solutions. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the School of Architecture, Art, and Design at KMITL, Thailand. Following her graduation, she contributed to the development of the public realm for Bangkok Design Week 2021, which enhanced her professional skills in collaborative work with landscape studios, organisations, and local communities. Sasiwimon is committed to continuous learning and seeking challenges in new contexts. Her achievements include multiple awards, such as an Honourable Mention in the 2021 Thesis of the Year competition organised by ASA and CDAST, a Recognition Award in the Floating Pavilion on the Drava River Competition in Maribor, Slovenia, organised by Outsider Magazine, and an Honourable Mention in the MT Design Award 2022, organised by Modern Tage in Bangkok, Thailand.
In her artistic practice, Sasiwimon embraces the contemporary era's dynamic intersection of art, architecture, and spatial practice. She utilises art as a tool to narrate and reflect on the relationship between built and unbuilt environments. Her work has been featured in several group exhibitions, including "WAVES" at The Holy Art Gallery in London, UK, the White Canvas Thailand Contest 2021 at Palette Artspace in Bangkok, Thailand, and the RCB Portrait Prize Exhibition at River City in Bangkok, Thailand.
Currently, Sasiwimon continues to develop her practice at the intersection of art, architecture, and space. She was an artist in residence at Joya: arte + ecología in Spain, where she created an essay film exploring parallel spaces of climate justice. Additionally, she has produced public interventions in specific sites across London, utilising film, performance, and sonic interventions to engage with public spaces.
