1- Will be accepted for selection, films that following conditions below:
a) Films produced from January 1st, 2019;
b) Unpublished in São Tomé and Príncipe (preferably);
c) Not available on the web (preferably).
2 - Accepted submission in the following categories:
African Competition (Short Film, Feature Film, documentary, animation).
International Competition (Short Film, Feature Film, documentary, animation).
3 - Subtitles
All submitted works which the original language is different from Portuguese must contain the .srt subtitle files in PT-pt or EN-en.
a) The organizing committee selects the works for the competition and informs all filmmaker their decision.
b) Works that don’t follow requirements set out in the previous paragraphs will be excluded.
c) The selection result will be announced on August and will be available in the festival website (saotome-festfilm.com) and festival's official social media page.
4 - Awards & Prizes
Will be attributed prize to the best works in each category:
Best Feature film
Best Documentary
Best short film
Best Animation
The national and international jury will be formed by professionals invited by the organization, who will be able to award and give special mentions.
5 - Event date
The 5th edition of SÃO TOME FESTFILM will take place from October 26 to 29, 2022, when the winners of the different categories will be announced.
6 - Others
SÃO TOME FESTFILM can use stills, poster, headshots and trailers to promote films and artists.
Entry fees are non-refundable.
All works are automatically enabled to receive our newsletters through the contact email provided.
The selected films may take part of events non-commercial shows/extensions in the promotion of the Festival.
Any questions or issues that may arise will be clarified or resolved by the organization.
