Director Biography - José Luis López

While other children played ball and ran along the streets, Jose Luis Lopez was a child who liked to observe everything that happened inside and outside his world.
Drawing, coloring, painting, constructing and photographing, from time to time, with his father's "Werlisa Mat" camera, were part of the everyday doing that would somehow mark the rest of his career as an artist.
A degree in Fine Arts, a degree in audiovisual production and a Master's degree in marketing and communication, José Luis has developed his entire career as an advertising creative, audiovisual producer and press editor. José Luis is nowadays member of the Catalonia Film Academy.
Many years ago José Luis lay aside the brushes and the color palette, but these have accompanied in silent for the rest of his life. The lights, the cameras, the publicity and the publishing world have been able to fill the void all these years. But there is always something inside the artist people that keeps him expectant, attentive to the dictates of his heart.
He debuted with his first short film "Mi amigo Naim", obtaining 32 selections and 5 international awards. In 2018 he presents "The T-Shirt" a short film, in which he resorts to the visual metaphor to continue deepening his cinematic path of social and educational style, which has brought him repercussion and recognition. A film awared with several selections and two prizes: best director at the 6th ICFF (India) and a special jury recognition in the 69th Montecattini ISFF.
Now his latest work is the short film “Paula’s Clock”. A drama-thriller short that offers to the audience an atypical and personal and metaphorical point of view about child abuse that affects more than 300 million children in the world.
