Santanu Halder is a Filmmaker & Theatre director, Writer, researcher and academic with a specialization in cinema and visual storytelling.
Mr. Halder holds an M.S.S. in Television, Film and photography department, and also an M.A. in Theatre from the University of Dhaka. He is currently awaiting final defense of his PhD at A.N. Kosygin Russian State University, Moscow. He has also completed an intensive Film directorial course from KENO MITTA, Moscow Film School.
His creative works as Film direction- The Wave, Circle, Unexpected Letter, and point of view, etc. which have been showcased and awarded both nationally and internationally. as theatre direction include the Drama- The league of youth, Look Back in Anger, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Kinu Kaharer Thetar, Molua pala, Raja o raj drohira, Ainaghor, etc.
He has written screen play and drama.
His research interests lie at the intersection of cinematic semiotics, performance theory, visual design, and South Asian aesthetics. He has published articles on semiotic language of film, cinematic visual design as language, and representation of women in cinema.
A frequent trainer and workshop facilitator on Theatre, TFD, film, media, gender, and climate communication, Halder brings an interdisciplinary perspective to his creative and scholarly work.
