Dr. Saikat Mukherje is a scientist. An alumnus of European Marie Curie Science Commission Dr Saikat Mukherjee has written three movie spec scripts jointly with his wife, Dr. Sumita Banerjee. The feature script titled "The Corvus Ingeniosi" was a semifinalist in Hollywood's Blue Cat Screenwriting Competition 2016. Another short script " The Belief" was a quarterfinalist in Hollywood's PAGE Screenwriting Competition and Screencraft Short script contest 2017, and a semifinalist in Cannes Golden Plume International Screenwriting Competition 2017. This short script was also an official selection at the California Indie Film Festival 2018, Mediterranean film festival 2017, Italy, Jaipur International Film Festival 2018 2018, India & Wular Lake International Short Film Festival, Kashmir, India. The husband-wife duo has recently completed another movie spec script "The Whispers in Khoyai Woods" on the life of Santhal, a tribal population of Eastern India.
