I am an African filmmaker, storyteller and artist with a passion and affinity for Pan-Africanism, presently splitting time between Los Angeles and Freetown. I come from an acting background, earning an African Movie Academy Award-nomination as Best Actor in the feature film Soul Diaspora. I now write, produce, and direct, having recently completed a short film whose screenplay I authored, and with a documentary in post-production.
When interpreting roles or producing films, I draw my inspiration from my lived experience of migrating through the African continent from west to east and north to south as a teenager and young adult. This early experience shaped my vision and commitment to nurture, amplify, and contribute to bringing our collective African voice to the present, in the hope that we can reshape our future. Cinema is a medium that fascinated me from a very young age; I sees it as one of the most effective tools to combat injustice and inequality. The idea of living and working in Los Angeles as an artist was a far-fetched dream that has now become a reality. A life-long student of the arts, I continue to hone my work and participate in creative collaborative spaces. I am now building a production and post-production company based in Freetown.
