It has been years since Uma became a runaway. Taking shelter in a garage on a rural property in Montana, she finally relinquishes to her idiosyncratic travel-companion, Vince, that she has led him back to her childhood home.

Director Biography - Stephen Alan Seder

Stephen Alan Seder is an actor and director known for The Ballad of Lefty Brown, Laura Lost, and The Beast. He was born in Billings, Montana and attended The University of Montana for his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre. He attended Goddard College for his Master of Fine Arts. Stephen is an Assistant Professor of Theatre at The University of Montana Western, and owns a film production company called SederMedia.

Director Statement

When I was first given the script for Runaways, I found myself immediately fixated on the deep layers of nostalgia and longing embedded in the story. I believe there is a commonality throughout humanity, where we long to return to our childhood. Even when nostalgia is over-shadowed with trauma, we return to our origins to retrospectively reminisce on the faintest of memories, in the hope that we can recover a glimmer of unbridled happiness and feel the jouissance of our youth. For Uma, her lineage may be riddled with unhealed wounds, but she has found family in her friendship with Vince. For Runaways, I wanted to explore that intersection of blood relation and chosen family. Please enjoy the hard work this cast and crew put into such a sentimental story.
