With a passion for Hitchcockian suspense from an early age, he immersed himself in cinema and storytelling, earning a degree in Arts, Music, and Performing Arts, with a thesis on Alfred Hitchcock’s filmography. He later graduated with distinction in Performing Arts and Multimedia Production Sciences.
In 2017, Brucato wrote, directed, and edited The Different Being, a self-produced short film exploring themes of social exclusion and identity. Initially created as a personal exercise, the film garnered international praise, including the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Calcutta International Cult Film Festival, and was distributed on Amazon Prime Video.
Brucato’s follow-up, The Vanishing Hitchhiker (2020), inspired by the iconic urban legend, earned a Remi Award at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival and won Best Foreign Language Film at the Bare Bones International Film Festival. It was showcased at various festivals, including the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Film Festival and the Dickens Horror Film Festival. The film also caught the attention of media outlets such as PalermoToday and IlSicilia.it for its chilling atmosphere and unique take on horror.
In 2025, Brucato completed The Evil Brooch, a supernatural horror short set in the eerie Villa Malvolti in Venice. The film dives into themes of demonic possession, identity, and the supernatural, all wrapped in a visually striking and atmospheric narrative. The Evil Brooch solidifies Brucato's reputation as one of Italy's leading voices in psychological and horror cinema.
