RISK

Director Statement

I was born by the sea, a place that has always been my refuge. This short film seeks to recreate that space-time through the camera, sound, and performers. The inspiration came from Bill Viola's 'Ascension,' which sparked in me the need to pause time for contemplation. Over the years, I found that the images born from me are naked, vulnerable, and minimalist, like the silence of my childhood. This work explores the contemplation of both the vast and the minute, reflecting on discomfort, the permanence of difficult emotions, and the human condition in its rawness. In a world that imposes happiness and balance as norms, I aim to show that sadness, anger, and solitude are also valuable. My goal is to invite the viewer to participate in this universe of sensitivity, where abstract sensations and multiple interpretations prevail in a dialogue-free format.
