Renée Marie Petropoulos is an award-winning queer filmmaker from Gadigal/Sydney. Her graduating MFA thesis film from Columbia University, ‘Tangles and Knots’, received international acclaim premiering at the Berlinale 2018 Generation 14Plus competition, SXSW 2018 and was nominated for the 2018 AACTA Award for Best Short Fiction Film. Renée is currently in development on a variety of projects, including the feature version of ‘Tangles and Knots’ supported by Screen NSW and has worked in the industry in a variety of roles, most recently as a Script Coordinator of the Disney+ hit show ‘The Artful Dodger.’ Renée continues to push her cinematic practices, focusing on queer and female-driven stories.
