At the ripe old age of 9, Ari Lohr, surrounded in a shroud of dust and musty air, pulled out an old Sony handicam. At the time, he could barely distinguish left from right, but still found an odd but enticing joy in recording videos with the camera--that same theory holds true today. Five years later, at the age of 14, Ari has further discovered his passion and fondness for the world of film; In short yet electric fits of ardor and insanity, Ari finds a way, camera in hand, to transform every crazy and busy aspect of daily life, all into one small screen.
Although this film simply began as a high school project, it has quickly transcended into something more. Upon writing this script, I hoped to incorporate elements of action that would invoke a sense of fear and travesty; upon each turn of the story, my goal was to keep the audience guessing what would happen next. In what was to be a surreal, raw experience, I cast actors that understood the nature of the film and shared the same sense of urgency for the project. Upon producing the project, this sense of speed and fear was the driving force that eventually became, just like the film, drawn out, yet fleeting at the same time. I hoped to distort the viewers' sense of time and perception of reality through the buildup of this action, and the final product became the realization of this goal.
