Rebecca Van Kirk is a 14-year-old Asian-American film & theatre actress and filmmaker residing in Atlanta, Georgia. Van Kirk was born on September 11, 2004, in Guangdong, China and was adopted by her parents almost a year later. Van Kirk has had a love for make-believe and storytelling for as long as she can remember, and by the age of eight, she was fully immersed in both straight and musical theatre, involved in various performances with her school and church communities.
Around the age of ten, Van Kirk took up an interest in script-writing and film. She wrote many different scripts of her own including television series, full-length plays, feature films, and more. At the age of thirteen, Van Kirk began production on her first film, "I'm Adopted". The television pilot received over 300 views as an unlisted YouTube video in January of 2018, and after it's release, she knew that film acting, writing, and directing is what she wanted to continue.
After "I'm Adopted" was a success, Van Kirk began work on multiple other projects including her award-winning short film "Apologies", her award-winning feature film "Finding Me", and a web-series titled "The Optimist". While Van Kirk is working on many of her own projects, she's very interested in taking on other projects outside of her's as well. Rebecca enjoys journaling, listening to music, and hanging out with close friends when she's not working on a new film (or homework).
