Protocinema is a live screening event of short film/video works from unknown or emerging directors that subvert traditional cinematic norms. The program will highlight works that are evocative, eclectic, experimental, low budget/DIY, and often ask more questions than they answer.

Protocinema supports the democratization of short films as an engaging medium for everyone, not just filmmakers. It maintains the ethos that short films are a unique medium independent of the traditional feature length studio film.
