Polish-American Night at Comerica Park - Detroit
The Ethnic Layers of Detroit project at Wayne State University focuses on Detroit’s ethnic histories by creating digital stories to be showcased on New Media platforms. To this end, the ELD team is developing a digital portal that will inform students, scholars and community members about the cultural and historical background of different landmarks in Detroit. Mobile devices such as i-phones, androids and tablets can scan a QR code on a building or monument to superimpose the view of that story in real time and watch short, informative and entertaining presentations.

This is the second project that Raymond Rolak and Alina Klin have worked on together. Both are avid ambassador's of international travel as an educational tool. Detroit and Krakow are favorite cities and they both speak the praises of these two often overlooked holiday, cultural, culinary and excellent filmmaking destinations.
Rolak played baseball at Wayne State University and Klin is the current Polish Studies Instructor at WSU.
This was the second phase of this particular ELD production at Comerica Park in Detroit. Sports broadcaster Raymond Rolak and Alina Klin of WSU, also telecasted bilingual highlights of the festivities. The broadcast quality features were carried by television outlets and internet platforms in Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis and Texas. Internationally, the project was cleared and carried in Japan, Lithuania, Ukraine and Poland.
Klin said at the time, "We had some technical limitations and had only one chance and a few moments of field time. Pre-planning was the key. Comerica Park was a pageant of sound and a full palate of color. I saw so many students and former students here. It is wonderful to be Polish.”
There are four Polish-American features regarding Detroit that are wrapped and completed for the ELD Project at WSU.
