Director Statement

I love how films and great story telling can take you to a better place. I wrote this short chick-flick because I wanted to celebrate friendship and because I wanted to highlight that you are not ‘alone’ in society just because you aren't coupled up romantically with someone. It's about support, solidarity and standing up for each other, no matter if you are friends or strangers.

In Stand By Her, the main protagonist Nina is suffering from a core shattering breakup. Every girl can relate to her. At the same time, every girl can also relate to Nina's best friend Erica. The one who is always there for you through good times and bad times. Nina's living nightmare turns into a dream.
