Director Biography - Maurice Chauvet

Maurice Chauvet (Writer/Director): Maurice wrote the screenplay for Owning Mahowny (2003, Sony Pictures Classics), based on the book “No Limit” by Gary Ross. For his work on that film, he received a Genie Award (Canada) nomination for best adapted screenplay. Maurice has written feature films for Paramount, Nickelodeon and 20th Century Fox and television for Fox TV. He wrote and directed short film Three-Fifty, which played in over 45 film festivals world-wide, won several awards, aired on television in Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and in 2016, at last will air in North America on the Shorts HD The Shorts Movie Channel. His produced plays include Wild Kingdom, Bobby Zero, All Night Radio, A Safe Distance, the stage version of Three-Fifty and Ascension. A Safe Distance received an Ovation Award Nomination (Los Angeles) for best world premiere playin 2004. Maurice is the co-founder and co-artistic director of Apartment A, a theater company based in Los Angeles, CA.
