Director Biography - Klee Benally

Klee Benally is a Diné (Navajo) musician, traditional dancer, filmmaker, & Indigenous anarchist. He currently lives in Flagstaff, Arizona. Klee is originally from Black Mesa and has worked most of his life at the front lines in struggles to protect Indigenous sacred lands. Klee is a coordinator and founder of both Indigenous Action Media and Outta Your Backpack Media.

“The social impacts of forced relocation at Black Mesa on the Diné Nation have not been addressed in a feature dramatic narrative before.” states filmmaker Klee Benally, “I wanted to share a fictional story that focused on social and cultural impacts that are often ignored."
