Amit took leaves from office to watch a cricket match with friends. Amit’s Mother prepares rice pudding for him and offers him. Amit ask her to leave the rice pudding on the table. His mother asks him to company her for the shopping. He denies his mother as he is more into watching cricket match and his office work. His mother left for shopping while Amit’s friends join him to watch the match. They enjoyed fast foods, prepare coffee in the kitchen & create mess all around the rooms. They left after the match. Amit’s mother comes back and sees all the Mess in Amit’s bedroom and kitchen. Amit offers her Pizza and she denies as she is on her fast. Hearing about the fast Amit mocks her. When his mother tells him the truth about the fast. The situation pins both.

Director Biography - Xahid Khan

Xahid Khan is an Indian Filmmaker widely known for his short Alert – Condition: Red. Born in 1991 in a small village of Assam in North East India. A Business Graduate did Diploma in Filmmaking from Mumbai as well Diploma in Mass-Communication & Journalism. He started his career with his first Hindi film called Sand-The Love without Trust in 2015; it was screened throughout the small villages of Assam through mobile theaters and was loved by youngsters as well film lovers. His 2nd Film Alert-Condition: Red was Semifinalist in Academy Awards (OSCAR) Qualifying Film Festival “Best of India Short Film Festival, Los Angles”. For Alert Condition: Red he got international recognitions and won many awards including Best Films and Best Directors awards. His film “Mistake” which also has its round into many International, National as Well Regional Film Festival including Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival and won the best film awards in Emirates Short Film Festival ’19 in Dubai. His 5th Film Evening Gush a suspense drama also awarded in few festivals. He was nominated for North East India’s Person of The Year in the year 2018 and made his name in the list of North East Top 500 influential people. He got India Star Icon Award in 2019. Pins & Needles is his 6th film. He currently works as Filmmaking & Acting coach as well Filmmaker and Film Curator for few International & Regional film festivals in India.

Director Statement

In India and few other south Asian Countries Including Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal Women often keep fast. It's to be believed that keep fasting on certain days can fulfill your wishes like to remove hardship, to keep their husband healthy, to get child and so on. Mostly these believes are related one's feelings towards those certain wishes. I do respect that. It's not easy for keep fasting on certain days for too long. This film "Pins & Needles" is not based on these believes rather it's based on human feelings.
