Director Biography - Emily O'Connell

Filmmaker from Sydney, Emily is passionate about authentic storytelling in all forms. She recently completed her studies at the Australian Film, Radio and Television school a Graduate Certificate in Directing and Advanced Diploma in Producing. Emily is a qualified Yoga Facilitator and uses her experience in this ancient practice to advance the way she works with stories and performance. Emily desires to be in a constant state of curiosity with a zest to collaborate and create.

In 2017 Emily went on an expedition into the Bornean rainforests with founder of WILD Education, Roxy Rogan. She directed and filmed, Person of the Forest, a short-form documentary as a result of the trip which was selected for the Environmental Film Festival in Melbourne. Emily is currently producing, 'Give Me A Sign' a short comedy mockumentary going into production mid-January and is also in development for 'Breathing Under Water', an adaption of Australian author Sophie Hardcastle's novel of the same name.
