Experiencing Interruptions?

Pawnshop

There are over 230 pawnshops in Singapore – the same number of NTUC Fairprice supermarkets islandwide, yet many know little about the stories inside. Pawnshops hold tales of the desperate, the reckless and even the whimsical. From parents pawning their jewellery to pay for their child’s education, to gamblers trying to fund their subsequent bets, we follow the lives of customers who pass through a neighbourhood pawnshop and reveal a space where intimate stories converge.
