I was born and raised in New Jersey just outside of New York City.
I majored in Health and Physical Education at Slippery Rock State College in western Pennsylvania, but never did any teaching. Instead, I worked briefly in a bank, then as a house framer, a copy shop manager, a facilities manager, a car service driver, a private chauffeur, and a senior care companion. I am now retired.
Back in the 70s and 80s, I loved going to retrospective theaters in Manhattan (that no longer exist because of cable TV and digital access at home to just about anything) to see old classic films.
My favorite films all have heart. Some of them are: Casablanca (my all-time favorite), ET, Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, The Lives of Others, Ghost, It's A Wonderful Life, On the Waterfront, Philomena, and Nobody's Fool.
I was mentored by Canadian philosopher and poet Kenneth G. Mills (Honorary Prime Mentor of Canada 1997) for many years, the experience that has most shaped my life.
Currently, I live in Norwalk, CT, a terrific city with its multi-racial, multi-income mix of people.
I initially learned screenwriting from a Gotham Writer's Workshop course, then gained much from online coverage companies and feedback from screenwriting competitions. I also worked closely with screenwriter/editor Erin Linn McMullan to improve all of my scripts.
My scripts, The Man Who Stops Time, Rainwashed, The Tattooed Blonde, 4-Star Limo and Experimental Journey are currently available on Amazon.com.
The Man Who Stops Time won FIRST PLACE in a monthly the-greenlight.com contest and came in THIRD in their ANNUAL CONTEST. It has also been a quarter-finalist and semi-finalist many times in other contests.
Rainwashed was a TOP TEN FINALIST in the Writers on the Storm contest and has also been a quarter-finalist and semi-finalist in multiple competitions.
The Tattooed Blonde has been a SEMI FINALIST and QUARTERFINALIST in the few contests it's been entered into.
Most recently My Tainted Blood became an OFFICIAL SELECTION in the 2019 Adapted Screenplay Competition.
