Ottoman Film Festival is based in the heart of the cultural and historical city of Istanbul. An organization focused on international Independent Films with the aim to celebrate the works and bring filmmakers together.

Ottoman Film Festival is an online Independent Film Festival with live screenings with the aim to showcase and promote the work of filmmakers and enthusiasts. We aim to help them with receiving recognition.

Our juries will select official nominees and be invited to the screening of their films at Cinema located in the Beyoğlu area of Istanbul. Selections will be made 1 month prior to the event date.

Films entered in multiple categories are eligible to win several awards. Our 2018/2019 category list also consists of Screenplay for writers. There are no rules for Scripts and screenplay, all are welcome to submit into the festival. Screenplay nominees and winners will have the opportunity to have their scripts read at the award ceremony.

Rules & Terms

PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING:

We have no connections with 'Istanbul Kültür ve Sanat Vakfı ve İstanbul Film Festivali'. We are an INDEPENDENT film festival.

1. To submit a film you must own the rights to the screening of the film. By submitting you agree to the terms and conditions and to receive marketing newsletters and discounts about our film festival.
2. Films submitted must have been produced after 2013
3. To take advantage of our student discounts please send us your student ID to istanbulfilmfestival@gmail.com
3. The official selection consist of the films nominated for one of our awards, submissions that are submitted to more than one category, have a chance to win more awards
4. We encourage international submissions into our festival. Films must be submitted in English or with English subtitles
5. You may be requested to provide marketing materials for your film for promotions of screening. Our team will be in contact with you.
6. All selected nominees will be invited to the screening of the Ottoman Film Festival Nominees will be contacted by our team with all information about screening.

    We were "selected" by this festival, but could not attend, get information on the dates, no responses to emails. I even attempted to give them a private review, giving them the benefit of the doubt that there was a miscommunication. Ended up getting a refund by Film Freeway as there apparently was no festival. They also have no social media posts - I checked for weeks and weeks and no updates.
