One Way Ticket
With a reliable internet connection and modern technology, people around the world are hitting the road to explore other cultures and ways of life. They realize they don’t need to pay high rents to be near their place of work, but also that there is no reason to spend the rest of their lives in the place they were born. They work and live from anywhere they want, without limiting themselves to one location. As this new generation rises, companies and governments have also started to adopt new strategies.
Future of work or neo-colonialism? Through interviews with advocates, academics and authorities, this film examines issues surrounding the supposed "dream life".

Youjin is a journalist/film maker who has lived in 30+ countries for the last 10 years. She started making a film about digital nomads to show its present and future, bright and dark sides. Her project has been featured by many media including Forbes and Huffington Post. About 300 people from all over the world donated $30,000 to help make this film.
This documentary is the first feature-length documentary about digital nomads/remote working.
The production of this documentary itself was a distributed project. It’s developed entirely online from all over the world, by a crew from over 10 different countries. Only 3 members of the crew have actually met in real life. The shooting was conducted in 25 different cities.
