Young Matthew has struggled a lot over the past two years. Losing his mother to cancer, dealing with bullies, and now moving to a new town to get a "fresh start", it seems like everything in his world is upside down. Through making new friends, growing through his grief, and dealing with new bullies, Matthew begins to realize that things are not always black and white and "Everyone has a story" in this personal and heartfelt drama.

Director Biography - Ian Lang

Ian Lang has been writing, producing, acting, and producing films and videos since the age of 12. His passion for film was awakened after working with a friend on a video project for their 7th Grade Foreign Language class. Since that time, Ian has produced films and videos for numerous corporate, private, church, and online media outlets.

In 2015, Ian and a few friends started CD828 Studios as a fun way to release their creative energy on the YouTube community. Though everything that they created was just "for fun", Ian always wanted to build up to making "real" films. This hope culminated in the production of their current project "OK", a drama centering around a partially deaf boy and his Father who move to a new town in the wake of the Mother's death. Facing all of the challenges that come with grief and being the "new kid", Matthew (played by Cameron Gilbertson) finds hope and encouragement as he learns that things are not always so black and white because "Everyone has a story".

"OK" will be CD828 Studios first budgeted film produced with the intent to screen at festivals and they are so excited to see what God has in store for this project!

Director Statement

Hey Friends! Thank you so much for checking out our little film "OK"! The script for this story has been stewing in my brain for about 2 years going through numerous iterations and landing on a small heartfelt drama about a boy navigating life. We made this film for about $5,000 most of which we raised from friends and family through GoFundMe and other outlets (I've heard it's amazing the we even got that much!) and we are so grateful for the support of all of those who donated their time, talent, and money to make this project possible. As many of you know making a film is an incredibly humbling experience and a chance to really find out what you don't know (which is apparently a lot lol). This has been a fantastic experience and I cant wait for this film to go out the world. We pray that you are encouraged, and that this film empowers those who are braving similar situations to see that eventually, it will all be "OK".
