Director B. Trent was born in Memphis, Tn. Influenced by the late 90s and the early 00s aesthetic, he seeks to create full, vibrant life experiences on screen. Fueled by his own experiences, creating space and representation for Black, LGBTQ+ youth has become his common thread and theme for projects.
It's funny, to complete this section, I must: tell my story. Which, in its essence could be quite difficult but is ultimately Summit's Peak for me. For other's it's the raise they've fought for, or crossing the finish line first, in a race a they've trained in. In all, it's victory. The ability to tell my story is where I feel like I win, every time. Each sentence, a lap conquered. Each camera, a coach watching his victors. THAT is the reason for this art. I aspire to tell stories. BLACK stories. LGBTQ+ stories. Bringing to life the people buried inside of me, longing to be seen, heard and actualized. I'm determined to create and breathe life into black and queer stories.
