normally different
The life of an intellectually gifted child — not an unfamiliar thing for Ludwigsburg’s Wittbrodt family. They have known since first grade that their children Mira (11) and David (13) are gifted. At first glance, this may seem special; but in everyday life, it can be a challenge. Mira is a little perfectionist and knows what she is capable of. Like many gifted children, she is impatient with herself. David’s favorite subject is math, but for all his cognitive prowess, he has trouble socializing. Moreover, the Wittbrodt family has something others do not: their own fictional world, with its own currency, its own laws, and even taxes.

Clarissa Eysell was born in Pforzheim, 1995. During her school years, she was already active in the media, writing articles for an online magazine. After Abitur in 2013, she was drawn south from Baden-Württemberg into Bavaria. In Munich, she worked at Hubert Buda Media Verlag, primarily as a graphic designer for InStyle magazine. Initially, she stayed in Munich and absolved a one-year education in television journalism at the Bayerische Akademie für Fernsehen (Bavarian Television Academy). Since then, she has worked as a television journalist for various broadcasters including BR, ZDF, Pro7, and Kabel Eins. She has also worked as a video journalist — that is, as a one-man-team — for the regional online broadcaster DRF1 and has produced whole TV pieces on her own. Clarissa also studied communication science and German studies at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg. Since late 2017, Clarissa has been studying direction with a focus on television journalism at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg. She also ventured into fiction, shooting her first scenic short film ANTINOMIA as part of her studies. With the dance film ENTRE LES DEUX, Clarissa created a connection between her greatest passion, dance, and her dream job, filmmaking. Her film NORMALLY DIFFERENT is her first documentary.
