Shing Hei Ho is a Knox local who is currently studying Film and Television at the Victorian College of the Arts.
This film came about from my own experience of living in the city of Knox. Having spent much time on arduous bus trips from Knox to Monash Clayton and to the city, it is hard not to be constantly reminded about the train line that should have been built already.
For many in Rowville, there is no other transport choice besides the car; 92% of residents drive to work. I share the frustration with many in the community about the lack of political commitment to the Rowville Rail, a long-established proposal just waiting to be funded.
This film is my way of sharing the community’s dream with a broader Melbourne audience. Knowing that it will be seen by the people of Rowville—my friends and neighbours—motivated me to pursue the project with sincerity. With a local perspective, I curated a collection of stories and stunts as a testimony that the community can embrace and be proud of.
