Adrift
The story is about an individual stuck in the contours of morality and pragmatism. Avro returns to his estranged father’s home to perform the last rites of his deceased father. The thick wall between Avro and his past starts collapsing as things locked away, deep within him, find their way to the surface on the days following the funeral.

Saptarshi Bhattacharya is sensitive to his own wandering Bengali soul. He spent his childhood in the 90’s Calcutta, India learning how to paint and reading stories. His passion for storytelling through film has endured over the years. He is self-taught and produces his own films. He is also keen on expressing his stories through other mediums like theatre, computer games and graphic novels. Currently, he is pursuing higher education in computer science, in order to pursue his interest in understanding intelligence and life in general.
Saptarshi’s films are often autobiographical and cathartic – for him. It’s his art for his own sake. To his audience, his films are a chance to live out their own wanderlust of the soul.
The film Niruddesh (Adrift) is an expression of the emotional turmoil of young men who leave their homes for a career and are left with the choice of never returning.
